Sunday, June 28, 2026, Good Shepherd Church
152 West 66th Street, NYC (near Lincoln Center)
4:30 to 6:30pm, Costumes admired but not required.
The New York Baroque Dance Company cordially invites you to an afternoon of refreshments, diversions, and entertainment. There will be live music, dancing, fantastic costumes and a warm sense of community as we offer our second year of an interactive ball. Demonstrations of virtuosic fancy dances will be alternated with teaching the audience minuets, reels, contredanses, country dances, cotillions and more.
Repertoire is drawn from social dances between 1750 and 1830, encompassing life from before and after the American Revolution. Music and dance from the African American composer, Francis Johnson (1792-1844) will be played along with the ballads of the Revolution. You do not want to miss this celebration of the 250th Anniversary of the founding of our country.
An added feature of this event is the pre-concert workshop, TBD, at Ballet Hispanico on the Upper West Side. Attendees will gain inside knowledge on the origins of the dances and their differing styles.
